Instead of the ususal Border Party, representatives of JEF Münster and JEF Enschede met on the 6th of June to show the importance of open borders.

June 6th of this year would have marked the third border party of JEF Enschede on the German-Dutch border, bringing together people from all over the Netherlands and Germany. Unfortunately, the border party had to be cancelled due to the corona pandemic. Nevertheless, on Saturday the 6th of June representatives of JEF Münster, JEF NRW, JEF Netherlands and JEF Enschede came together in a small group at the border to raise awareness that, while the border between these two countries remained open during the pandemic, many borders in Europe were (and some still are!) closed due to the crisis. Open borders are incredibly important for the free movement of goods, people, and cross-border workers, especially in border regions like the one between Enschede (NL) and Münster (GER). The event by JEF Netherlands together with JEF NRW is a statement that we as JEF stay for open borders which is why we say: #donttouchmyschengen!
